Generation Swine keeps Nikki Sixx as the lead writer but spreads the credits more than any earlier album: Tommy Lee co-writes much of the music and takes lyric and lead-vocal duties on 'Brandon' and 'Confessions,' while outside names like Bryan Adams and Scott Humphrey turn up on 'Glitter' and 'Beauty.' There are no covers, so the experimental sound is all the band's own, including Sixx's lead vocal on 'Rocketship.'

Generation Swine is the seventh studio album by Motley Crue, released by Elektra in June 1997 and the record that reunited the classic lineup with Vince Neil back on lead vocals. Experimental and industrial-tinged, it pushed the band into electronic textures and studio effects far removed from their glam metal roots, a divisive move shaped by co-producer Scott Humphrey and Tommy Lee. Nikki Sixx still wrote most of the lyrics and music, but the writing opened up, with Tommy Lee taking lead vocals on 'Brandon' and Nikki Sixx singing 'Rocketship.' The reunion drew attention but the album's sound split the fanbase.
