American Capitalist was recorded at the Hideout in Las Vegas across 2010 and 2011 and released on October 11, 2011. It entered the Billboard 200 at number three on more than 90,000 copies, the band's best showing to that point, and reached platinum in the US by 2017. Five singles came off it, with 'Coming Down' giving the band their first number one on Mainstream Rock. It is the first album without bassist Matt Snell, who left in December 2010, and it won Album of the Year at the 2012 RadioContraband Rock Radio Awards.
