By the Numbers
AfterLife is the first album with new guitarist Andy James, and it is band-written apart from a cover of Foo Fighters' 'Times Like These,' a tribute recorded after Taylor Hawkins's death. The originals are credited mainly to Zoltan Bathory and Ivan Moody with Kevin Churko. All three lead singles topped the Mainstream Rock chart. Churko produced. It extended the band's remarkable streak of No. 1 rock-radio hits.
AfterLife came out on Better Noise on August 19, 2022, the first album with Andy James on lead guitar after Jason Hook left in 2020. Kevin Churko produced it with the band. It entered the Billboard 200 at number ten on 30,000 units, went to number one in Finland and Switzerland, and topped Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart, the band's seventh number one there and more than any other act has managed. It had sold over 160,000 copies worldwide by the end of 2022 and 423,000 equivalent US units by May 2026. The one cover is the Foo Fighters' 'Times Like These.'
