By the Numbers
Bruce Springsteen wrote every song on Lucky Town and recorded the album quickly, playing most of the instruments himself rather than relying on a full band. Columbia released it the same day as Human Touch, an unusual simultaneous double release in March 1992. "Better Days" opens the record with a burst of optimism, while "Leap of Faith" carries the same loose, spontaneous energy that defined the sessions. The album reached number three on the Billboard 200 and earned a Platinum certification.
Lucky Town is Bruce Springsteen's tenth studio album, released on March 27, 1992, simultaneously with Human Touch. Recorded largely in just three weeks at Springsteen's home studio, it is the more critically favored of the two same-day releases. Roy Bittan contributed additional production on three tracks. All ten tracks were written solely by Springsteen.
