Lost Highway was Bon Jovi's Nashville-influenced country album, recorded in Nashville and Hollywood with producers John Shanks and Dann Huff. Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora wrote alongside country and pop songwriters including John Shanks, Desmond Child, Brett James, Billy Falcon, Gordie Sampson, and Hillary Lindsey, and the record leaned on pedal steel and Nashville session players to color the band's stadium-rock template. It became the band's third album to top the Billboard 200 and the first to debut at number one, opening with about 292,000 copies in its first week. Guest collaborations with Big & Rich on "We Got It Going On" and LeAnn Rimes on "Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore" anchored the country crossover.
