When Somebody Loves You keeps Alan Jackson as the primary author of his own hits. He wrote five of the eleven songs alone, including all three of the lead country singles, so his legal name Alan Eugene Jackson carries the composer credit across the record's best-known tracks. When Somebody Loves You is the ninth studio album by American country singer Alan Jackson, released on November 7, 2000 on Arista Nashville. Keith Stegall produced the whole record, keeping Jackson in the neotraditional country lane he had held since the start of his career. Jackson wrote five of the eleven tracks himself, including the singles 'When Somebody Loves You,' 'www.memory,' and 'Where I Come From,' with the remaining songs drawn from writers such as Harley Allen and Robert Lee Castleman. 'Where I Come From' became the album's biggest hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA and Gold in Canada, and its Nashville session band featured players including Brent Mason, Paul Franklin, Eddie Bayers, and Stuart Duncan.
