By the Numbers
Us and the Night is 3 Doors Down's most recent studio album and the first with new bassist Justin Biltonen, following Todd Harrell's departure. It is band-written and produced by Matt Wallace, leaning back toward a harder rock sound led by "In the Dark," a No. 2 Mainstream Rock hit. Commercially modest, it kept the band active on rock radio.
The sixth 3 Doors Down album, released March 11, 2016 after a five-year gap, the longest of their career to that point, and the first with Chet Roberts on lead guitar and Justin Biltonen on bass. All eleven tracks are credited to that lineup as a whole, so the writing sits with the five members and nobody else. Matt Wallace produced and engineered it, Chris Lord-Alge mixed and Ted Jensen mastered. It entered the Billboard 200 at number 14 on 24,000 first-week copies, topped the Independent Albums chart, and produced three singles in 'In the Dark,' 'Still Alive' and 'The Broken.'
