By the Numbers
The self-titled fourth album is again entirely band-written and gave 3 Doors Down their second straight No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200. The single "It's Not My Time" reached the Hot 100 top 20, while the military tribute "Citizen/Soldier" extended the band's patriotic streak. Johnny K returned to produce a heavier, guitar-forward record.
The self-titled fourth 3 Doors Down album, released May 20, 2008 with Johnny K producing again. Every one of the twelve tracks is credited to Brad Arnold, Matt Roberts, Todd Harrell and Chris Henderson as a group, with no outside writer. It is the first album with Greg Upchurch, formerly of Puddle of Mudd, on drums. 'Citizen/Soldier' was written as a tribute to the National Guard and reached number 96 on the Hot 100, while 'It's Not My Time' peaked at 17. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number one on 154,000 first-week copies, their second straight chart-topper, and had sold 820,000 copies in the United States by late 2009.
