Data Insight

Tyler Joseph wrote all of Clancy and produced it himself with Paul Meany, the partnership that has anchored the band's records since Trench. The album is the narrative conclusion to the Dema concept, resolving the story of the character Clancy that ran through Blurryface, Trench, and Scaled and Icy. Joseph deliberately reaches back to earlier sounds and lyrical motifs to close the loop, blending his rapping and singing with synth and rock arrangements. Josh Dun performs and engineers the drums throughout.

Twenty One Pilots' seventh studio album, released May 24, 2024, and the conclusion of the 'Dema' narrative arc begun on Trench. All 13 tracks were co-produced by Tyler Joseph and Paul Meany; eight were co-written with Meany, while five were written solely by Tyler Joseph. Track 5, 'Routines in the Night,' carries an additional co-writing credit for Jake Torrey. Clancy debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, marking the band's second chart-topper. The album closes out the Clancy character's story and signals a narrative resolution for the Dema lore spanning multiple album cycles.
