Let It Go marks the first time Tim McGraw's name shows up in the songwriting credits, co-writing 'Train #10' with Brad and Brett Warren, though he still leaves the other twelve tracks to outside writers. The album pairs him with wife Faith Hill on the No. 8 duet 'I Need You' and leans on writers like Chris Stapleton and Tom Douglas. Byron Gallimore, McGraw, and Darran Smith produced. It went Platinum and yielded the No. 1 'Last Dollar (Fly Away).'
Curb released the ninth album in March 2007 and then worked it for three years, pulling eight singles off it. 'Last Dollar (Fly Away),' written by Big Kenny of Big & Rich, gave McGraw his first number one since 'Back When' in 2004. 'If You're Reading This' started charting from a live performance at the Academy of Country Music awards before it was ever issued, which prompted Curb to reissue the album with the song added to the track listing. The title track reached number two in late 2008. It went platinum in the US, and 'Train #10' carries a rare writing credit for McGraw himself, shared with Brad and Brett Warren.
