Damn Country Music is best remembered for 'Humble and Kind,' a Lori McKenna song McGraw did not write that became a No. 1 hit and cultural touchstone, underlining that his most meaningful records are things other people wrote. He wrote none of the album's tracks. Family and friends show up as guests: his daughter Gracie McGraw on 'Here Tonight' and Big & Rich on 'California.' Byron Gallimore and McGraw produced. It went Gold.
Big Machine released the fourteenth album in November 2015, produced by McGraw and Byron Gallimore across studios in Nashville, Franklin and Los Angeles. Its biggest song by a distance is 'Humble and Kind,' written alone by Lori McKenna for her husband and five children, which topped Country Airplay and won the Grammy for Best Country Song and the Country Music Association's Song of the Year. 'Top of the World' led the album off in August and 'How I'll Always Be' followed the hit. The record went gold in the US and Canada, and McGraw wrote none of its eleven songs.
