By the Numbers
The only album where Casablancas shares every song. All eleven tracks are credited to him and Albert Hammond Jr. together, a partnership that appears here and nowhere else in the catalogue: the next record goes back to Casablancas alone. Whatever the two of them found on this album, it was not repeated.
Room on Fire is The Strokes' second album, released in October 2003 on RCA. Gordon Raphael produced again after sessions with Nigel Godrich were abandoned. It reached number two in the UK and number four in the US, and produced "12:51" and "Reptilia".
