By the Numbers
All eleven tracks credit all five members, a different arrangement again from Angles: the writing is shared rather than assigned to the band as an entity. That makes this the most evenly distributed album in the catalogue on paper, and the last before the band returned to Casablancas writing alone on The New Abnormal.
Comedown Machine is The Strokes' fifth album, released in March 2013 on RCA, the last record of their original contract. Gus Oberg produced it. The band did no press and no touring for it, and it reached number 10 on the Billboard 200.
