More Monsters and Sprites

More Monsters and Sprites is the second EP by Skrillex, released in June 2011 on OWSLA / Atlantic and self-produced by Skrillex. Released as a companion to his debut EP, the record extended his brostep aesthetic with even more abrasive sound design and kinetic rhythmic programming that pushed the limits of what mainstream electronic music would bear. Tracks like 'First of the Year (Equinox)' and 'Ruffneck (Flex)' became festival staples and demonstrated Skrillex's ability to generate infectious energy even within the most aggressive sonic frameworks. The EP further cemented his dominance of the EDM landscape at a moment when that scene was exploding commercially in the United States. More Monsters and Sprites is an important document of Skrillex at the very peak of his initial creative disruption.
