Bangarang is the third EP by Skrillex, released in December 2012 on OWSLA / Atlantic and self-produced by Skrillex. The title track, featuring Sirah, became one of the most recognizable EDM songs of the decade and won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2013, giving Skrillex his fifth Grammy overall by age twenty-five. The record demonstrated a slight broadening of his sonic palette beyond pure brostep, incorporating elements of hip-hop, house, and more melodic electronic music. 'Summit' with Ellie Goulding became a crossover hit that reached rock and pop radio, expanding Skrillex's audience beyond the festival circuit. Bangarang is the final statement of Skrillex's first creative wave and the EP that definitively established him as the figurehead of America's EDM explosion.
