As the Matchbox Twenty frontman stepping out solo, Rob Thomas wrote or co-wrote all twelve tracks, with most credited to him alone. The exceptions bring in collaborators: "This Is How a Heart Breaks" adds the Swedish team of Christian Karlsson, Henrik Jonback, and Pontus Winnberg, while "Streetcorner Symphony" and "Now Comes the Night" are co-written with producer Matt Serletic. It is a strongly self-authored debut that topped the Billboard 200.
The debut solo studio album by Rob Thomas, released on April 19, 2005 through Atlantic Records. Produced by Matt Serletic, who had worked with Thomas on all Matchbox Twenty albums, the record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum. Rob Thomas wrote or co-wrote all 12 tracks; track 1 was co-written with Swedish production team Bloodshy & Avant and Henrik Jonback, while tracks 11 and 12 were co-written with Serletic. The album produced hits including "Lonely No More" and "This Is How a Heart Breaks." Guitarist John Mayer performs on "Streetcorner Symphony."
