By the Numbers
Two names carry all sixteen tracks: Ozuna and Vicente Saavedra, the manager who signed him after hearing his music at a basketball game and who runs Dímelo Vi. Under that pair the writing splits into two camps. José Aponte works on ten of the sixteen, always alongside Ozuna and Saavedra and rarely with anyone from the other camp. Chris Jedi and Gaby Music (Carlos Enrique Ortiz Rivera and Juan G. Rivera Vasquez) appear together on five and bring Luis E. Ortiz Rivera with them on four of those. The guests wrote their own parts in every case: Nicky Jam, Zion, Lennox, J Balvin, De La Ghetto and Anuel AA each show up in the writer list of the one track they sing on and nowhere else on the record.
Odisea gathers three years of singles rather than a fresh set of songs. "Si No Te Quiere" had been circulating since 2014, and seven of the sixteen tracks were already out by the time the album arrived on 25 August 2017, which is how Ozuna ended up with eight songs on the Hot Latin Songs chart at the same time in the run-up. It entered Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart at number one on 18,000 in US sales, then held the top spot for 46 weeks, the second-longest run on that chart after Gloria Estefan's Mi Tierra.
