Moods Songwriting Credits by Neil Diamond

Moods is a fully self-authored Neil Diamond album: he wrote every one of its eleven songs, so his own name carries the entire writing credit, with the legal name Neil Leslie Diamond behind the composer column. The centerpiece 'Song Sung Blue' is his own composition, written and sung by Diamond and produced by Tom Catalano, and it became his last solo number one on the Billboard Hot 100. 'Play Me,' another Diamond original, followed it into the top twenty. There are no covers and no outside writers anywhere on the record, which makes it one of the clearest statements of Diamond as a complete singer-songwriter. The only outside creative voice is arranger and conductor Lee Holdridge, who shaped the orchestration around Diamond's songs.
