Data Insight

Maluma has never worked in a circle this tight. MadMusick, the brothers Jonathan and Giencarlos Rivera, write on all fourteen tracks and produce thirteen, the exception being "El Vallenato", which Felipe Peláez took over. Los Jaycobz, the brothers José Daniel and Juan Esteban Zapata, write on seven, Ily Wonder on the same seven, and between those five names and Maluma himself the album is essentially covered. The engineering is where the sprawl really disappears: Josh Gudwin mixed every track and Colin Leonard mastered every track, which is why a record that moves from a 6/8 bambuco through salsa, vallenato and drill still sounds like one room. Guests write their own parts rather than dropping in a verse, so Kany García, Ryan Castro, Arcángel, Beéle, El Bogueto and Yeison Jiménez all appear in the credits of the song they sing on. "Con el Corazón" is the only Maluma and Yeison Jiménez recording there will be: Jiménez died in a plane crash in January 2026, months after the session and four months before release.

Loco X Volver landed on 15 May 2026, Maluma's seventh studio album and the first since Don Juan. Fourteen tracks run 43:59 and step back from the pop reggaeton he built a career on, making space for salsa, vallenato, música popular and acoustic pop. Maluma called it the most personal project he has created and said it represents his roots and his culture. The guests are Ryan Castro, Kany García, Luny Tunes, Grupo Frontera, El Bogueto, Lenny Tavárez, Justin Quiles, Arcángel, NTG, Yeison Jiménez and Beéle.

Frequently Asked Questions Loco X Volver

How many songs are on Loco X Volver?
Fourteen, running 43:59. Four had already been released as singles before the album: "1+1" with Kany García, "Con el Corazón" with Yeison Jiménez, "Botero" with Arcángel and NTG, and "Pa' la seca" with Ryan Castro.
Who produced Loco X Volver?
MadMusick, the Medellín duo of Jonathan and Giencarlos Rivera, produced or co-produced thirteen of the fourteen tracks, with Maluma credited alongside them on thirteen. MAJESTIK, Los Jaycobz and Ily Wonder recur across the record. Sky Rompiendo took "Pa' la seca", Luny Tunes "De buena que sí", Felipe Peláez "El Vallenato" and Edgar Barrera worked on "Una Vida Juntos".
What does Loco X Volver sound like?
Less reggaeton than Maluma's earlier albums. The title track is built on a 6/8 bambuco, "Tu Recuerdo" is romantic salsa, "El Vallenato" leans on accordion, "Con el Corazón" is música popular and "Botero" sets rap against piano and strings. Maluma described it as the most personal project he has created.
Who guests on Loco X Volver?
Ryan Castro on "Pa' la seca", Kany García on "1+1", Luny Tunes on "De buena que sí", Grupo Frontera and El Bogueto on "Una vida juntos", Lenny Tavárez and Justin Quiles on "Sornero", Arcángel and NTG on "Botero", Yeison Jiménez on "Con el Corazón" and Beéle on "Los poderes".
Did Loco X Volver chart?
It reached number 37 in Spain and did not enter the Billboard 200 or Top Latin Albums. Of its singles only "1+1" charted, peaking at number 31 on Hot Latin Songs and number 54 in Argentina.
Data note: Per-track credits for this album rest on Genius alone. There is no Wikipedia article for Loco X Volver in English or Spanish, and the MusicBrainz release carries no work or artist relationships, so the writer and producer lists have no second source to check them against. Several credited writers publish only under a stage name and have no legal name on any live source, so they appear in lyricists and are absent from composers: Dirrty, FOSTER (COL), SAIBU, NTG, J. Cortés, Young Crunk, Maisak, Richi López, Vibarco, Ily Wonder as a separate credit from Andrés Uribe Marín, and the MadMusick aliases Yon Mad and Yan Mad, whose legal names Jonathan Rivera and Giencarlos Rivera are recorded as a pair without saying which alias belongs to which brother.
