See You on the Other Side is the seventh studio album by Korn, released in December 2005 on Virgin Records, their first album without guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch, who had left the band in February 2005 following his conversion to Christianity, and an album that introduced significant electronic and alternative rock production influences alongside the remaining nu-metal framework. Davis wrote all lyrics; the album was produced by the Deftones' Chino Moreno and Stacy Jones alongside the band, incorporating synthesizers and industrial electronic elements in a way that reflected the band's awareness of the commercial and creative exhaustion of their earlier approach. 'Twisted Transistor,' 'Coming Undone,' and 'Politics' were the principal singles; the album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 with 226,000 first-week sales and has been certified gold. See You on the Other Side is regarded as the beginning of the band's post-classic period, a genuine attempt to evolve their sound rather than simply repeat the formula, and its electronic influences would become more prominent on subsequent releases. See You on the Other Side is regarded as the album that most honestly addressed the creative consequences of Welch's departure and the band's need to evolve their identity, and its willingness to incorporate electronic and alternative rock production rather than simply continue the nu-metal formula gave it a forward-looking quality that was absent from the more commercially defensive Take a Look in the Mirror.
