Animal is the debut studio album by Kesha, released in January 2010 on RCA Records / Kemosabe Records and produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Benny Blanco. Preceded by the monster hit 'TiK ToK,' which spent nine consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the best-selling digital single of 2010, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and established Kesha as a major commercial force almost overnight. The record's blend of electropop, synth-punk, and hip-hop-inflected production created a party-anthem aesthetic perfectly calibrated to the early-2010s club landscape.
