By the Numbers
Authorship on this record sits with one person almost all the way through. Jesús Ortíz Paz is the registered writer on thirteen of the fourteen songs, and the exception, "Les Voy a Platicar", is registered to guitarist Samuel Jáimez with Khrystian E Sanchez. No outside songwriter appears anywhere on the album, which sets it apart from the co-writing rooms behind the band's later records, where Diego Millán and Angel Ureta take credits. Fuerza Regida cut their first studio album two years after a YouTube channel turned a San Bernardino cover band into a Rancho Humilde signing. Jesús Ortíz Paz is the registered writer on almost every song here, and the group recorded the set the way it played the songs on stage, with 12-string guitar, rhythm guitar and sousaphone behind one lead voice. The album entered Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart at number one, the band's first leader on any chart, then reached number eight on Top Latin Albums the following week. It won Regional Mexican Album of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2020.
