One of These Nights tightens the writing around Frey and Henley, who share credit on the title track, 'Lyin' Eyes,' and 'After the Thrill Is Gone.' Randy Meisner and Don Felder contribute as co-writers, with Felder taking his first lead vocal on his own co-write 'Visions.' Bernie Leadon's 'Journey of the Sorcerer' is an instrumental, and his closing 'I Wish You Peace,' co-written with Patti Davis, was his last contribution before leaving the band.
One of These Nights is the fourth studio album by Eagles, released in June 1975 and their first to reach number one in the United States. Produced by Bill Szymczyk, it pushed the band further into polished rock while keeping its harmonies intact, and it was the last album to feature founding guitarist Bernie Leadon. The title track became the band's second number-one single, joined by the hits 'Lyin' Eyes' and 'Take It to the Limit.' Don Felder's growing role shows in his co-writes 'Too Many Hands' and 'Visions,' the latter his only lead vocal with the band. The album earned a Grammy for 'Lyin' Eyes' and was certified four-times platinum.
