My Gift is Underwood's first Christmas album, and it is mostly interpretive: eight of its tracks are traditional carols and standards, leaving three originals. She co-wrote two of those originals, "Let There Be Peace" and "Sweet Baby Jesus," with Brett James and David Garcia. Greg Wells produced the record with lush orchestral arrangements.
"My Gift" is the 2020 Christmas album by Carrie Underwood, a holiday record blending country and traditional carols, produced by Greg Wells with full orchestral arrangements. The album featured "Hallelujah," a duet with John Legend who also co-wrote the song, along with "Favorite Time of Year," "Silent Night," "Mary, Did You Know?," "O Holy Night," and "The Little Drummer Boy" featuring her son Isaiah. It peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and reached number 1 on Top Country Albums, Top Holiday Albums, and Top Christian Albums, while both "Hallelujah" and "Favorite Time of Year" topped Hot Christian Songs. "My Gift" was certified Gold by the RIAA and sold more than 628,000 copies, and it won Top Christian Album at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The release made Underwood the first artist to place eight consecutive number 1 albums on the Top Country Albums chart.
