By the Numbers
Ember is the most collaborative album of the band's career: for the first time, all five active members earn writing credits across multiple tracks, a real shift from Burnley's earlier near-sole authorship. Burnley still leads and produces, but the writing opens up to Keith Wallen, Jasen Rauch, Aaron Bruch, and Shaun Foist. The result leans heavier, with nu-metal edges, and pushed two singles to the top of Mainstream Rock.
The sixth studio album by Breaking Benjamin, released on April 13, 2018 through Hollywood Records. For the first time, all five active band members received writing credits on multiple tracks, marking a shift toward genuine collective songwriting. Benjamin Burnley continued as the primary creative force but the album reflects the most collaborative writing effort of the band's career. Track 6 "The Dark of You" features dancer and television personality Derek Hough. Track 1 "Lyra" and track 12 "Vega" are brief instrumental bookends written and produced by Burnley and Rauch respectively.
