Tom Petty wrote or co-wrote every song on Long After Dark, his sixth album with the Heartbreakers. Mike Campbell shares the writing credit on four tracks, including the hit 'You Got Lucky,' while Petty is the sole credited author of the rest, among them 'Change of Heart.' Petty co-produced the record with Jimmy Iovine, the team that had shaped his previous two albums. It was the first Heartbreakers album to feature bassist Howie Epstein, who replaced Ron Blair.
