TLC is the fifth studio album by TLC, released in June 2017 on their own PLG label following a Kickstarter campaign that funded the recording, a reunion album by the surviving members T-Boz and Chilli, 15 years after Left Eye's death and the 3D album, and the first album of entirely new original material since FanMail in 1999. T-Boz and Chilli performed all material; the album includes posthumous contributions from Left Eye on several tracks and features production from Stargate, Sean Paul, and others. 'Way Back,' 'Haters,' and 'Scandalous' were the principal singles; the album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 with 35,000 first-week units. TLC is primarily significant as a commercial and personal statement, the two surviving members affirming the group's continued relevance and honoring Left Eye's legacy through a new set of material, rather than as a commercial breakthrough, and its Kickstarter funding model was a significant experiment in direct artist-to-fan commercial activity.
