Yes. Every track on their studio albums is credited to the two members, Aristos Petrou and Scott Arceneaux Jr., and Arceneaux produces nearly all of it himself under the alias Budd Dwyer, so the writing and the beats both come from inside the duo. Outside names appear only where a specific track calls for one, and each is credited by name: Elmo Kennedy O'Connor co-wrote 'Fuck the Industry' on I Want to Die in New Orleans, Devin Phillion co-wrote 'Life Is But a Stream~' and 'The Number You Have Dialed Is Not In Service' on Long Term Effects of Suffering and 'Ashes of Luxury' on Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation, Eliot Dubock co-wrote 'Transgressions' and 'Us vs. Them' on New World Depression, and Karma-Ann Swanepoel is credited on 'The Light at the End of the Tunnel for $9.99 a Month' because it samples her song 'Once'.

The Authorship Story
Data Insight
Ruby da Cherry and Scrim are both credited on all 73 tracks, with no gaps and no undocumented writers in the catalogue. On 56 of those tracks the pair are the only names on the song, which is rare for rap at this volume. Outside help is thin and concentrated: Sam Bo Bachrack appears on 9 tracks and nobody else clears 3. Thy Kingdom Come (2025) breaks the pattern hard, 9 of its 10 songs co-written, while the companion release Thy Will Be Done keeps 9 of 10 in-house.

The Story
$uicideboy$ is an American hip-hop duo from New Orleans, formed in 2013 by cousins Aristos Petrou and Scott Arceneaux Jr. They built an audience on SoundCloud with beats they produced themselves, and they still run their own label, G*59 Records. Six studio albums in, they have put four records inside the Billboard 200 top ten without leaving the underground rap scene they came from.
Frequently Asked Questions $uicideboy$
Do $uicideboy$ write their own songs?
Who writes the lyrics in $uicideboy$?
Both members, together. Petrou and Arceneaux share the writing credit on every track of their studio albums rather than splitting songs between them, and the co-writers who do appear are added to that shared credit rather than replacing it.
Who produces $uicideboy$ tracks?
Arceneaux, working under the production alias Budd Dwyer. Apart from occasional guest producers and purchased instrumental loops, their discography is self-produced, and he handles the bulk of it. The album pages bear this out: production on Long Term Effects of Suffering and Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation is credited to him under that alias, and he produced New World Depression with three additional producers listed.
What does Ruby da Cherry contribute besides rapping?
Petrou came up as a musician first. He started on violin at seven, moved to drums at ten, joined bands in middle school and drummed for the punk band Vapo-Rats before leaving to work with Arceneaux. He also plays the guitar interlude on 'I No Longer Fear the Razor Guarding My Heel (IV)', the closing track of I Want to Die in New Orleans.
Which outside producers work on $uicideboy$ albums?
Yes. They own and operate G*59 Records, which releases their music, and distribution runs through The Orchard. Caroline handled distribution earlier, and the debut album I Want to Die in New Orleans came out through Caroline Distribution alongside the G*59 imprint.
Who are $uicideboy$ regular collaborators?
Germ and Shakewell, both G*59 artists, have made collaborative EPs with them, with Germ running through the DirtyNasty$uicide releases. Earlier joint EPs came with Black Smurf, Ramirez and Pouya, and Getter produced Radical $uicide. Travis Barker of Blink-182 made Live Fast, Die Whenever with them, featuring Korn guitarist James Shaffer. On more recent records, Bones features on the Thy Kingdom Come track "Now and at the Hour of Our Death" and Night Lovell on "Carried Away".
Where does the $uicideboy$ sound come from?
Three 6 Mafia is the clearest influence, and early tracks sampled the group directly, most obviously on 'Mask & Da Glock'. Founding member Juicy J has been vocal in his support and mentorship of the duo and brought them in to produce his mixtapes Highly Intoxicated and ShutDaF*kUp. New Orleans runs through the writing as well: titles such as 'Audubon', 'Tulane', 'Elysian Fields' and 'St. Bernard' name the streets and neighborhoods the two grew up around.
Did $uicideboy$ release anything before I Want to Die in New Orleans?
No studio albums, but a great deal of music. They put out EPs and mixtapes only, beginning with Kill Your$elf Part I: The $uicide $aga on SoundCloud and Bandcamp in June 2014, and their first full-length project, Gray/Grey, followed in March 2015. I Want to Die in New Orleans arrived on September 7, 2018 and debuted at number 9 on the US Billboard 200 with 49,000 units in its first week.
Do the members release music outside $uicideboy$?
Both do, and none of it sits on a Suicideboys album. Arceneaux recorded mixtapes as Scrim before the duo formed and later released the solo albums A Man Rose from the Dead and Lonely Boy, the latter in 2024. Petrou released two solo mixtapes as Oddy Nuff da Snow Leopard and, under the name Duckboy, the albums tragic love songs to study to [vol. 5] and existential hymns for the average sigma (vol. 9).
