Data Insight

Authorship on this record stays inside the family. Aristos Petrou and Scott Arceneaux Jr. wrote every track together, and the one outside writer is Elmo Kennedy O'Connor, who joined them on "Fuck the Industry" and speaks on it under his rap name Bones. Arceneaux holds the production credit as Budd Dwyer across the album, and each guest producer turns up on a single song: Juicy J on "Phantom Menace", ThizzmanBeatz on "Meet Mr. Niceguy", Benihana Boy on "Long Gone (Save Me from This Hell)" and SLMDNKASR on the closing suite. Petrou steps away from the microphone once, playing the guitar interlude in "I No Longer Fear the Razor Guarding My Heel (IV)". Mike Foster mixed and engineered the record and Chris Athens mastered it.

I Want to Die in New Orleans is the debut studio album by the New Orleans duo $uicideboy$, released on September 7, 2018 through their own G*59 Records with distribution by Caroline. Scott Arceneaux Jr. produced it under his Budd Dwyer alias and wrote every song with his cousin Aristos Petrou, working across trap, hardcore hip hop and Memphis rap over 14 tracks. It entered the Billboard 200 at number 9, the first US top ten for the duo, and reached number 6 in Finland and number 10 in Australia. The RIAA later certified the album Gold.

Data note: Genius credits ThizzmanBeatz as a co-writer as well as co-producer of "Meet Mr. Niceguy", but the Wikipedia track listing and the label-supplied composer credits name only Petrou and Arceneaux as writers, so ThizzmanBeatz is recorded here as a producer only.
