The Story

Mya Marie Harrison grew up in Washington, D.C. studying ballet, jazz and tap, and got her start on BET's Teen Summit as a member of the dance posse. She signed to University Records, an Interscope imprint, and her debut arrived in 1998. Nine studio albums have followed, the last five on Planet 9, the label she founded in 2008.
