My Cherie Amour is Stevie Wonder's eleventh studio album, released in 1969 on Tamla Records. The title track, 'My Cherie Amour', was written by Wonder, Hank Cosby, and Sylvia Moy and had originally been written when Stevie was a teenager, inspired by a classmate he admired at the Michigan School for the Blind. The song was shelved for years before being released as a B-side and then becoming a #4 hit on the strength of radio support. 'Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday,' written by Ron Miller and Bryan Wells, became another significant Top 10 hit. The album continued the pattern of mixing Wonder co-writes with Motown staff compositions, and 'My Cherie Amour' itself demonstrated that Wonder had been writing songs worth having for years before Motown released them.
