Data Insight

Alejandro is the only credited writer on eight of the eighteen tracks, and he takes a production credit on every one of them under his El Zorro alias, a tighter grip than most reggaeton albums of this size show. Where he did open the room he kept it in-house: his recording engineer Kenobi and his beatmaker Mr. NaisGai pick up writing credits on "Lejos del Cielo" and "Corazón Despeinado", and each guest wrote his own verse rather than singing finished lyrics. The outlier is "Dime Quién????", which carries nine writers, among them Tainy and the British duo Red Triangle, more than every other collaboration on the album put together. The old-school tracks run the opposite way: DJ Playero and Baby Rasta are credited as writers on the songs that rebuild their own 1990s material, so the men who made those records get the sheet rather than a sample clearance.

Saturno is Rauw Alejandro's third studio album, out on November 11, 2022 through Sony Music Latin and Duars Entertainment. It pulls Miami bass, eurodance and techno into a reggaeton record, and the guest list reaches back to the genre's founding decade with Baby Rasta and DJ Playero sitting alongside Daddy Yankee, Arcángel, Lyanno and Brray. It debuted at number 25 on the Billboard 200 and at number 2 on both Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums. Pitchfork rated it 7.6 out of 10.

Data note: Mr. NaisGai, Caleb Calloway, MadMusick, Rvssian, Slow Jamz, Magic en el Beat, Ov Grey, Jota Rosa, Freddy "El Syntethyzer" and Phantom Neo appear under stage names only; no page opened for this pass printed a legal name for them, so they sit in lyricists or producers and never in composers. "De Carolina" reached number 91 on the Spanish singles chart but did not chart on Hot Latin Songs, and that chart's formal name was not printed on any page opened here, so it is left out of singles. Track 10 is titled "Qué Rico Ch**gamos" on MusicBrainz, Discogs and Genius; Wikipedia prints it uncensored.
