Dance into the Light was Phil Collins's first album as a full-time solo artist after leaving Genesis, and the first issued on his own Face Value imprint. Collins wrote the bulk of the material himself and co-produced and mixed the record with longtime collaborator Hugh Padgham, who also engineered. The album is not all self-written: it includes a cover of Bob Dylan's 'The Times They Are a-Changin'' and 'Lorenzo,' co-written with Michaela Odone. It was notable as Collins's first solo album to yield no US Top 40 hit.

Dance into the Light is Phil Collins' sixth studio album, released October 21, 1996. It reached #4 in the UK and #23 in the US. Collins wrote 12 of 13 tracks; the album closes with a cover of Bob Dylan's 'The Times They Are a-Changin''. Track 3, 'Lorenzo', was co-written with Michaela Odone (wife of the man with adrenoleukodystrophy depicted in the film Lorenzo's Oil).
