The Authorship Story

Data Insight

Young writes on every track she releases, thirty-three of the thirty-five across three albums, with the two blanks being untitled interludes. What changes is the company. The debut spreads across five different producers with a different writing partner on almost every song. From the second album on she settles into one room: Jared Solomon, who produces as Solomonophonic, plus Conor Dickinson and William Brown, and that trio carries most of the last two records. She is the sole writer on five tracks, and “Messy”, the song that broke her, has just two.
