Data Insight

Let's Get to It is where Minogue's co-writing becomes the norm rather than the exception: she shares the writing on most tracks with Mike Stock and Pete Waterman, and on 'I Guess I Like It Like That' with the Technotronic team Phil Wilde and Jean-Paul de Coster. The two tracks she did not write, 'Word Is Out' and the cover 'Give Me Just a Little More Time,' are now the outliers. It closes her SAW era with her name on nearly every original.

Let's Get to It is the fourth studio album by Kylie Minogue, released in October 1991 on PWL and her last for the Stock Aitken Waterman camp. By now the partnership had narrowed to Mike Stock and Pete Waterman as producers, and Minogue co-wrote the majority of the album, a clear step up in authorship from her first records. Drawing on new jack swing and dance-pop, it produced the singles 'Word Is Out,' 'If You Were with Me Now,' and 'Finer Feelings.' The album sold less than its predecessors but works as the bridge between Minogue the interpreter and the self-directed artist she became after leaving PWL.
