Data Insight

Legends Never Die is the first posthumous Juice WRLD album, assembled from recordings he made before his death in December 2019, with his vocals and lyrics drawn from his own freestyled sessions. The album leans on guest features from Halsey, Marshmello, The Weeknd, and Trippie Redd and production from Nick Mira, Dr. Luke, Marshmello, and Skrillex. The songwriting remains rooted in Juice WRLD's confessional, improvised style.

Legends Never Die is Juice WRLD's first posthumous studio album, released July 10, 2020, through Grade A Productions and Interscope Records, approximately seven months after his death. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and broke the record for the biggest opening week for a posthumous album at the time, demonstrating the enormous reservoir of goodwill and fandom Juice WRLD had built during his brief career. It was assembled by Juice WRLD's manager Lil Bibby, his mother Carmella Wallace, and longtime collaborators who curated material from his vast archive of unreleased recordings. The album features an eclectic cast of collaborators including Marshmello, Polo G, Trippie Redd, Halsey, Young Thug, and Clever, reflecting the breadth of Juice WRLD's creative relationships. Thematically the record covers familiar Juice WRLD territory, love, heartbreak, substance use, and mortality, with some tracks taking on an especially poignant quality in light of his passing.
