By the Numbers
All fourteen tracks credit both Maddens together with nobody else, which returns the album to the shape of the debut after the co-writers of The Young and the Hopeless. It is also the band's most ambitious record, with strings and a two-version release, so the narrower credit sheet is a choice rather than a fallback.
The Chronicles of Life and Death is Good Charlotte's third album, released in October 2004 on Epic with Eric Valentine producing again. It is a darker and more orchestral record than its predecessor, released in two versions with different closing tracks, and sold 1,100,000 in the United States.
