Data Insight

The pressing credits name Farruko as a writer on eleven of the twelve tracks, and "Feel the Rhythm" is the exception, credited there to David Pinto. The people who built the beats mostly wrote the songs on top of them: DJ Urba and Rome LMN write all four tracks they produce, Musicólogo and Menes write two of their three, and every guest takes a credit on the song he appears on, Daddy Yankee included. That concentration is the real change from the debut, where sixteen producers split fourteen tracks; here two teams cover seven of the twelve.

Farruko's second album came out on 22 May 2012 with twelve tracks and a much smaller production crew than the debut. Daddy Yankee guests on "Pikete", with Alberto Stylee, El Micha, Mozart La Para and Fuego taking the other guest spots, and every one of them writes on the song he appears on. The record reached 19 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart, 2 on Latin Rhythm Albums and 40 on Heatseekers Albums, and it placed on the Latin Rhythm Albums year-end chart twice. It was nominated for best urban music album at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2012, where the prize went to Don Omar.

Frequently Asked Questions TMPR The Most Powerful Rookie

Did TMPR The Most Powerful Rookie win a Latin Grammy?
No. It was nominated for best urban music album at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2012 and lost to Don Omar Presents MTO2: New Generation. Farruko's competition in the category also included J Alvarez, Tego Calderón and Ana Tijoux.
Who guests on TMPR The Most Powerful Rookie?
Five guests across twelve tracks: Daddy Yankee on "Pikete", Alberto Stylee on "El Único", El Micha on "Va A Toa", Mozart La Para on "Si Te Pego Cuerno" and Fuego on "Hola Beba (Mambo)". Each of them also takes a writing credit on the track he appears on.
How high did TMPR The Most Powerful Rookie chart?
It reached 19 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart, 2 on Latin Rhythm Albums and 40 on Heatseekers Albums. It also finished 15 on the Latin Rhythm Albums year-end chart for 2012 and 17 on the same chart for 2013.
What does TMPR stand for?
The Most Powerful Rookie. Farruko was two years past his debut when the album came out, and the Spanish Wikipedia article glosses the title as el novato más poderoso.
Data note: Per-track credits rest on two sources that agree track for track: the Mexican Discogs pressing, which prints Written-By and Producer credits under legal names, and each song's Genius credits page, which prints the same people under stage names. Genius returns an empty credit list for "Pikete", so that track's writers come from the Discogs pressing alone. Benny Benni, credited by Genius as a co-writer on "Titerito" and "Buena Vibra", has no legal name published on Genius, MusicBrainz or Discogs, so he stays under lyricists and not composers. The Genius page for "Si Te Pego Cuerno" is filed under Mozart La Para rather than Farruko. Producer credits are a union of two live sources that do not fully overlap: the Discogs pressing names one producer each on "Va A Toa", "Si Te Pego Cuerno" and "Hola Beba (Mambo)", while the Spanish Wikipedia track table adds Musicólogo, Menes and Phantom to the first, Marcos López to the second and Frank Martínez to the third. The label is recorded here as El Cartel, which is what the Wikipedia discography table gives; the discs themselves carry the Siente Music imprint, with S&A Music Corp on the copyright lines and Universal Music Latino distributing.
