Data Insight

Weathered was written by Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti after bassist Brian Marshall's departure, with Tremonti also handling bass on the record. It produced the hits "My Sacrifice" and "One Last Breath," both Hot 100 top-ten singles. Certified 6x Platinum, the album is fully self-written by the band's two principal songwriters.

Brian Marshall was gone before these sessions began, so Mark Tremonti played the bass parts himself and Weathered became the only Creed album made as a trio. He and Scott Stapp wrote most of it in a three week stretch in late 2000, straight off the Human Clay tour, and John Kurzweg recorded it through the second half of 2001 in a private house in Ocoee, Florida that had been fitted out as a studio. It debuted at number one and held the top of the Billboard 200 for eight consecutive weeks, the longest run since the Beatles compilation 1 the year before. Six singles came off it, with 'My Sacrifice' reaching number 4 on the Hot 100 and 'One Last Breath' number 6, and the album went six times platinum in the US.
