Unorthodox Jukebox is the second studio album by Bruno Mars, released in December 2012 on Elektra/Atlantic Records and produced by The Smeezingtons, Mark Ronson, Jeff Bhasker, and others. It demonstrates an even wider stylistic range than the debut, incorporating reggae, funk, pop, disco, and R&B within a single album in a way that reflected Mars's engagement with the full breadth of popular music rather than a single genre identity. Mars wrote or co-wrote all material; 'Locked Out of Heaven,' 'Treasure,' 'When I Was Your Man,' and 'Gorilla' were the principal singles. 'Locked Out of Heaven' spent six weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and its Police-influenced new wave production demonstrated Mars's ability to draw from classic rock production frameworks without sounding nostalgic; 'When I Was Your Man' reached number one as a ballad in a different genre category. Unorthodox Jukebox debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and has been certified seven-times platinum in the United States; it won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album.
