By the Numbers
F.E.A.R. was produced by Kane Churko and Kevin Churko across ten tracks, with the album's title serving as an acronym for "Face Everything and Rise." Jacoby Shaddix co-wrote all the tracks with the Churko brothers and various collaborators; the album features Maria Brink of In This Moment on Gravity and rapper Royce da 5'9" on Warriors. Face Everything and Rise became the band's second number-one single on the Mainstream Rock chart. The album reached number one on the US Top Hard Rock Albums chart and number 13 in the UK.
F.E.A.R. is the seventh studio album by Papa Roach, released in January 2015 on Eleven Seven Music and produced by Kevin Churko, the first album on an independent label after the DreamWorks/Geffen major-label period and a return to heavier, more guitar-forward material after the melodic rock explorations of the previous albums. Shaddix wrote all lyrics; the album's title stands for 'Face Everything and Rise,' framing the album's thematic content around confrontation with fear as a growth process. 'Face Everything and Rise,' 'Gravity,' and 'Warriors' were the principal tracks; the album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 with 50,000 first-week units. F.E.A.R. received positive reviews from fans who had missed the heavier approach of the early catalog and confirmed that the band retained a commercially significant audience on independent distribution.
