Data Insight

Stick Season is Noah Kahan's purest authorship statement: he wrote or co-wrote all fourteen tracks, and most of them alone. Nine of the fourteen are solo Kahan writes, with the rest co-written mainly with producer Gabe Simon. It is the album where his name dominates the credits most completely, a folk record drawn almost entirely from his own pen and built around his Vermont upbringing.

Stick Season is the third studio album by Noah Kahan, released through Mercury and Republic in October 2022 and the record that made him a star. Produced by Gabe Simon and Kahan, it trades the pop sheen of his earlier work for stripped-back, banjo- and acoustic-led folk rooted in his rural Vermont upbringing. Kahan wrote or co-wrote all fourteen tracks, mostly alone or with Gabe Simon, in his most personal songwriting to date about home, family, and staying behind. The title track became a sleeper hit that powered the album up the charts and turned Kahan into an arena headliner. A later expanded edition, 'Stick Season (We'll All Be Here Forever),' added new tracks and duet versions with guests like Hozier and Post Malone.
