The sound changes and the credits do not. Twelve tracks, all four names on all of them, no outside writer. Even the shift to arena rock is written inside the band, which makes the eventual opening up on Rushmere ten years later look like a choice about people rather than about style.
Wilder Mind came out in May 2015 with James Ford producing and the banjo largely gone, replaced by electric guitars. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 231,000 copies and has sold 568,000 copies in the US as of May 2016.
