Tropicoqueta keeps Karol G's total co-writing while widening her collaborator base: she is in the lyricist credit on all twenty tracks, but the composer column now leans heavily on songwriter Edgar Barrera and Andrés Correa, with Ovy on the Drums still present and Pharrell Williams adding production. Tropicoqueta is the fifth studio album by Karol G, released in June 2025 and the first on her own Bichota label through Interscope. A vibrant celebration of Latin and Caribbean music, it moves through cumbia, vallenato, salsa, merengue, and reggaeton, leaning into tropical and retro sounds more than any of her previous work. Karol G co-wrote every track, expanding her collaborator circle to include songwriter Edgar Barrera and Andrés Correa alongside longtime partner Ovy on the Drums, with Pharrell Williams contributing production. The guest list spans generations, from Marco Antonio Solís and Manu Chao to Feid and Greeicy. Its lead single 'Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido' became a long-running number one on the US Hot Latin Songs chart and won Latin Grammy Song of the Year.
