Thank Me Later is the debut studio album by Drake, released in June 2010 on Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Motown Records, following the viral success of his three mixtapes If You're Reading This It's Too Late, So Far Gone, and Thank Me Later, the last of which had generated Drake's first Billboard Hot 100 hit, and which is the album that introduced him to the full commercial mainstream after years of underground circulation as a mixtape artist. Drake wrote or co-wrote all his own material; the album synthesizes the melodic, introspective mode he had developed on So Far Gone (where singing and rapping are blended in a way that drew directly on Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak) with conventional major-label hip-hop production provided by Timbaland, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, and Boi-1da. 'Find Your Love' and 'Over' were the principal singles; 'Find Your Love' produced by Kanye West spent 13 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and reached the top twenty on the Billboard Hot 100. Thank Me Later debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 447,000 first-week sales, making it one of the strongest debut album performances for a hip-hop artist in years. The album established the confessional, relationship-focused lyrical mode that would become Drake's signature across the following decade.
