By the Numbers
Dearly Beloved is Daughtry's independent, back-to-heavy record, released on the band's own Dogtree label and produced by Scott Stevens and Marti Frederiksen, who also mixed it. Chris Daughtry co-writes every track with those two and bandmates like Brian Craddock and Elvio Fernandes, so the writing stays a tight in-house collaboration. It returned the band to a harder post-grunge sound and gave them rock-radio traction with "World on Fire."
Daughtry's sixth album, released in September 2021 through the band's own Dogtree Records and their first not on RCA. Scott Stevens and Marti Frederiksen produced and played on it at Sienna Recording Studios in Nashville, pulling the band back toward a heavier post-grunge sound. It is the last record with bassist Josh Paul, guitarist Josh Steely, and drummer Brandon Maclin, who left in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The tour behind it was pushed back after the sudden death of Chris Daughtry's stepdaughter, and the album had earned 88,000 album-equivalent units in the US by February 2024.
