Data Insight

Aguilera hand-picked her collaborators for Bionic rather than letting RCA assign them, and she holds co-writing credits across most of the record. The electronic spine came from Ladytron and Switch, while the ballad suite ('You Lost Me,' 'All I Need,' 'I Am,' 'Stronger Than Ever') was built with Sia Furler and Samuel Dixon before Sia's own solo fame. Polow da Don and Ester Dean wrote and produced the up-tempo singles, and Tricky Stewart with Claude Kelly handled 'Glam' and 'Prima Donna.' Linda Perry returned for 'Lift Me Up' and Le Tigre contributed 'My Girls,' giving the album an unusually broad authorship roster.

Aguilera's fifth studio album blended pop, electropop, and burlesque theatrics across a sprawling 18-track standard edition, drawing on an unusually diverse producer roster: Polow da Don for aggressive dance tracks, John Hill and Switch for futurist textures, Sia Furler and Samuel Dixon for stripped-down ballads, and Tricky Stewart for glam-pop. Aguilera co-wrote nearly every track, a creative stride forward from Back to Basics.
