Data Insight

Wild World is a single-author record. Dan Smith wrote every song on the album, so the lyricist credit is his across all fourteen tracks, and the composer column carries his legal name, Daniel Campbell Smith. Production is shared with Mark Crew, Smith's long-time studio partner, who co-produced and mixed much of the album while outside mixers Mark 'Spike' Stent, Manny Marroquin, and Rich Costey handled the singles and select tracks. The performing credits belong to the four-piece band, but the writing does not branch out; this is Smith's songbook played by Bastille.

Wild World is the second studio album by British band Bastille, released on 9 September 2016 through Virgin EMI. Written entirely by frontman Dan Smith and co-produced with Mark Crew, it expands the group's synth-driven sound into a denser mix of alternative rock, pop rock, and electronics, threaded with news clips and film samples. The record entered at number one on the UK Albums Chart and reached number four on the US Billboard 200. It was led by the single 'Good Grief,' followed by 'Send Them Off!,' 'Blame,' and 'Glory.' The album was certified Gold in the UK and confirmed Bastille as a band whose songs are shaped almost wholly by a single writer.
