Bad Blood is the debut studio album by the British band Bastille, released in March 2013 on Virgin Records. Built almost entirely around frontman Dan Smith, who wrote every song and co-produced the record with Mark Crew, it turned the band from a solo bedroom project into one of the UK's biggest new acts. The single 'Pompeii' reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and became a worldwide hit, joined by 'Flaws,' 'Things We Lost in the Fire,' and the title track. Its sound blends indie pop hooks, synth textures, and choral backing vocals, with lyrics that pull from history, film, and mythology across songs like 'Icarus,' 'Daniel in the Den,' and 'Laura Palmer.' It topped the UK Albums Chart and became the biggest-selling digital album in Britain in 2013, later certified multi-platinum in the UK and platinum in the US.
