Testing is A$AP Rocky's most experimental album, written by Rocky across its tracks as he pushed into noisy, psychedelic, and abstract production. He writes his own verses while guests such as Skepta, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, and Moby contribute their own parts, and Rocky co-produces much of the record. The authorship is his own, framed by a deliberately unpolished, exploratory sound.
Testing is the third studio album by ASAP Rocky, released on May 25, 2018 through ASAP Worldwide, Polo Grounds Music, and RCA Records. An experimental, psychedelic take on hip hop, it was produced largely by Hector Delgado and Rocky himself, with contributions from Boi-1da, Clams Casino, Dean Blunt, Dev Hynes, Jim Jonsin, and Skepta. The album features Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Skepta, French Montana, Kodak Black, FKA Twigs, and Juicy J. Its lead single "ASAP Forever," featuring Moby, T.I., and Kid Cudi, reached number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Praise the Lord (Da Shine)" with Skepta followed as the second single. Testing debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 with 75,000 album-equivalent units and was certified gold by the RIAA in 2019.
